Here is a brief field review/test fire of the new Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22. Also included in the video is the Colt Umarex working with the S&W on a side by side rapid fire comparison.  Enjoy

Here is my initial response to opening the box of the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22.

This new Rifle, my first response is this one is "Solid". First of all, this one has a SOLID barrel.

The Colt Umarex M4/M16 series does not. They decided to roll with a "Thin Walled" barrel with a

"Shroud" over the top to give the illusion of a solid barrel. IMO, if you want to sacrifice accuracy, drop

down to a thin walled barrel. It heats up quickly and only causes your rounds to wander on paper. :)

This new S&W has easy to remove "Take Down Pins". Unlike the Colt Umarex, their pins have nearly a ZERO tolerance

thus making it nearly impossible to push them out without the aid of a light brass (or Other) hammer. But hey, German

engineers like to make things perfect. :)

Stay tuned, the field test fire will be posted ASAP.

Remington 597 VTR

Here's a new one that has just been brought to my attention. Thank you to Lance from michigancenteroutdoors.com for bringing this one to my attention. I have to say, I have a Remington 597 in .22 magnum and I love this rifle. I'm so curious as to how well this new 597 VTR will perform that I think I'll be stepping out and picking one up soon before 'ol Barry puts the "cabosh" on these too! All in all, I'd like to see one of these in person and would like to know if it performs as Remington says it will perform in their latest newsletter. I'm thinking if the Rem trigger set is as the older 597 .22LR and .22 Mag performed, a nice aftermarket set up will make this drive the "tacks" even more efficiently

New Rem 597 VTR .22 LR

Well established in the world of 22 rimfire rifles, the Model 597 family of autoloading rimfires adds full-featured, AR-style versions to its line-up, the Model 597 VTR (Varmint Target Rifle) 22LR in two distinctive configurations. With performance-enhancing features derived from Remington's platform of R-15 and R-25 modular repeating rifles, these heavy barreled, tack-driving carbines will be offered through Gander Mountain® retailers and available nationwide to dealer network through Ellett Brothers

Colt Umarex M4 .22 LR

Well... It's finally HERE! Well, not "Here", but "Here" in the hands of the suppliers.

The  COLT/UMAREX M4 .22LR.

You should be able to click on the pic below and be directed over to On Points page with the new M4s and photos of each variant.

I picked mine, or soon to be mine, up just as soon as I got word they came in. One advantage to shopping at www.onpointfirearms.com, you are able to be placed on a "Notify me when this product is in stock" list. So, just as I did, I received the notification in an email and made the purchase just as soon as the excitement slowed to a portion to which I was able to clearly type in my order.

I will be standing by the honor and word of the folks over at On Point. Check them out. You can sign up for his VIP club, it'll cost ya 5 bucks a month. No big deal right? Wrong!! It's a HUGE deal! By signing up, you get DEALER pricing on all firearms just as if you have your very own FFL holder in your pocket. Do ya get ticked off at Gas prices just knowing that we are being "Gouged"? Well, leave these feelings at the door with these folks. They're good people over at On Point. Something you don't find very often these days.

In today’s America, we need all the "Good People" vs. Lost "Sheeple" we can find in our corner.

On Points pricing is extremely fair. When I cruised through GunBroker.Com (Gun Choker as I call 'em) I could not believe that these rifles were selling for upwards to to $899 USD!!! Wow... wanna be "Gouged", shop else where. If you're a smart shopper, On Point has them listed between $521.19 for the M4 .22 LR 10 or 30 rd Mag/16.2" barrel to $573.44 for the M4-OPS 10 or 30 rd mag/16.2" barrel.  Just check 'em out. Get on the lst so ya know when the next batch is out and ready to be purchased.

I'll be posting a review and Video as soon as it arrives. I'm excited!!! Come check it out and share in the fun.

Come on over to the "Forums" and talk about yours when you receive it!!!

I appologize for the extreme delayin site production. I have had a personal injury to contend with

that intails in part, a left shoulder rebuild. Not fun...

Thank you for your patience.
